In his many years at plying his art, German-born photographer Holger Keifel has singularly and unerringly directed his lens to areas of life that are seldom explored as artistic subjects.

His work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Der Spiegel, ZeitWissen, The Observer Sport Monthly, Black + White Magazine and American Photography.

In 2002, Keifel began his most ambitious project, "The Face of Boxing," a series of over 370 portraits, ranging from trainers, managers and cutmen to such superstars as Evander Holyfield, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya. Among his many museum and gallery exhibits are a 2004 solo show, "Boxers," at The Butler Museum of Contemporary Art, and a 2002 solo show, "WTC Rescue Workers," at The Butler Institute of American Art, both in Ohio.

"Holger Keifel’s exquisite portraits are more than fine art. Taken together, they constitute an important historical record. There is no other collection in the world like this."
